Anesthetics were a common medicine that were used to reduce a patient's discomfort.[1] They were included as standard in Chiewab Amalgamated Pharmaceuticals Company's ECM-598 Medical Backpack.
MD-2 medical droids were programmed to administer anesthetics to patients and monitor their vital functions during surgery.[2]
