Anelsana was a terrestrial world[2] located in the Anelsana system of the Expansion Region's Farstey sector, situated in grid square O-8 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It had several cities on its surface. At some point during the Imperial Era, the world suffered due to a trade embargo enforced by the Galactic Empire while under its control.[2] In 3 BBY,[3] Viceroy Bail Organa gave his daughter, the Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa, a list of locations in need of humanitarian aid, which included Anelsana.[2]
The princess reflected on the past effects of the embargo affecting Anelsana and surmised that lingering proof of the trade sanctions was most likely to be found within the world's cities. Leia opted to refrain from traveling to Anelsana, citing her father's insistence that she only journey to one of the world's rural continents located north of the main cities, and eventually rendered assistance to the world Chasmeene.[2]
