An alta-wave calibration device was a piece of technology that included a flat gray base with a hooked arm on a stand at one end.[1] In 32 BBY,[2] the junk dealer Watto had an illegal alta-wave calibration device sat by the back door of his junkshop in the city of Mos Espa on the planet Tatooine when Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his allies visited in search of a T-14 hyperdrive generator.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, an alta-wave calibration device was mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations. It was part of material reprinted[1] from the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, which was written by Kristin Lund, illustrated by Richard Chasemore and Hans Jenssen, and marked the first mention of the device in the Star Wars Legends continuity. The book's illustration of Watto's junkshop[3] including the alta-wave calibration device, then appeared as an area where players would search out specific items in the[4] 2012[5] non-canon video game Star Wars Galactic Spy.[4]
