- ―Captain Dustrunner, to a spacer
Aldalad was a Male criminal who lived on Corellia during the Galactic Civil War.
Biography
- "Well, now you're going to have to go get Aldalad. He's ready to testify against Borvo and his crew. Bring him back safely."
- ―Captain Dustrunner, to a spacer
After the Battle of Yavin, Aldalad bought a large amount of illegal weapons to the Hutt crime lord Borvo. However, he was arrested by the Corellian Security Force whose members were investigating Borvo's activities on Corellia. Aldalad therefore agreed to testify against Borvo, in exchange for CorSec protection and retirement on the beaches of Corellia.[2]
In 1 ABY,[1] the CorSec investigation against Borvo the Hutt came to an end when a spacer working for Borvo murdered the infiltrated CorSec agent Niksel Frangee on Naboo. As nobody in the CorSec knew how Frangee looked like at the moment of his death, the spacer used Frangee's CorSec badge to pass himself off as Frangee on Corellia.[3] Aldalad was going to testify when CorSec Captain Thale Dustrunner gave his secret location to Borvo's spy. Aldalad was killed by the spacer working for Borvo, by pretending to be a subordinate of Captain Dustrunner.[2]
Behind the scenes
Possible depictions of Aldalad
Aldalad appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] Because Aldalad spawned under the generic "borvo_aldalad" template, his appearance was randomized under one of thirty-five possible depictions. However, quest dialogues identified him as male.[2]
Aldalad was present in the original release of the game, being part of Borvo the Hutt's questline.[5] With the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005,[6] Borvo the Hutt's questline was revamped. While the gameplay of the questline was extensively upgraded, the storyline remained similar. Players had to kill Aldalad in a quest where they were working for Borvo the Hutt.[3]

Notes and references
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
