- "Seems this guy Frangee was an undercover security guy."
- ―Borvo's guard, to a spacer
Niksel Frangee was a detective of the Corellian Security Force during the Galactic Civil War.
Biography
- "One of our most trusted guys! He even trained me. Wait, you're not a cop are you? You take out Frangee and that'll prove you're not a rat snitch yourself."
- ―Borvo's guard, to a spacer
Agent Frangee was a detective of the Corellian Security Force. Prior to the Battle of Yavin, he joined an investigation against the Hutt crime lord Borvo. Frangee traveled from Corellia to Naboo and infiltrated Borvo the Hutt's criminal organization.[3] He was introduced to Borvo by Montrus, one of Borvo's business partner.[4] Frangee stayed undercover for the next six years[5] and became an important of the criminal organization. He even trained Borvo's personal bodyguard.[2]
In 1 ABY,[1] the CorSec investigation against Borvo the Hutt came to an end.[5] An important police operation was therefore organized to trap the gang during an illegal weapon sale near Moenia. The mission was a success and almost every Borvo's men were killed or arrested. Only Dagorel, Borvo's hand man, escaped but the criminal was able to report Frangee's treason to Borvo.[6] The detective was then murdered in the Paitnnu Wetlands by a spacer in Borvo's employment.[2]
Legacy
- "Oh...Oh, my! That badge! you're Agent Niksel. You look exactly like I thought you would. So, you've returned!"
- ―Captain Dustrunner, to a spacer
During the six years in infiltration, all of Niksel Frangee's direct superiors had retired and been replaced. Thus, nobody in the CorSec knew how Frangee looked like at the moment of his death. The spacer who killed him later used Frangee's CorSec badge to pass himself off as Frangee on Corellia.[3] The spacer met one of the CorSec senior officers, Captain Thale Dustrunner, in the Coronet Capitol. Dustrunner fell for the ruse and took the spacer for the long lost agent. He ordered him to protect Aldalad, a witness who wanted to testify against Borvo, and Maerzen, who had discovered evidence against Borvo the Hutt. The spacer killed both of them and returned to Naboo, leaving the CorSec without any evidence against the Hutt crime lord.[5]
Behind the scenes
Every possible depictions of Niksel Frangee
Niksel Frangee appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[7] Because Frangee spawned under the generic "borvo_frangee" template, his appearance was randomized under one of thirty-five possible depictions. However, the scenario clearly identified him as male.[2]
Frangee was present in the original release of the game, being part of Borvo the Hutt's questline.[6] With the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005,[8] Borvo the Hutt's questline was revamped. While the gameplay of the questline was extensively upgraded, the storyline remained similar.[2]

Notes and references
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
