Adikaria was a celestial body[2] located in the Core Worlds' Adikaria system.[1] Its surface featured oceans that were at one point inhabited by giant sea creatures. During the early period of exploration of Adikaria, a submersible sank in the oceans.[2] By 3643 BBY,[4] Adikaria had been inhabited for centuries. Around that year, an environmental cleanup operation was carried out on the celestial body, which included the dredging of its oceans.[2]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity.

An individual affiliated with one of the sides in the then-ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire sent a companion to participate in the latter process in hopes of obtaining valuable finds. The companion discovered large quantities of refuse and the remains of Adikaria's aquatic creatures, as well as the wrecked old underwater exploration vehicle.[2]

By the time of the Clone Wars[3] in 21 BBY,[5] the celestial body had become the point of origin of the Adikarian composition known as Greetings Between Equals.[3]

Behind the scenes

Adikaria was first indirectly mentioned in Karen Miller's 2010 novel Stealth, the first entry in the Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit novel duology.[3] The celestial body was then fully identified in a Scavenging Crew Skill mission of Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 video game developed by BioWare, though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the game.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Adikaria system, and therefore Adikaria itself, in grid square K-12.[1]

  4. Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "Cleansing the Seas" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
  5. The Essential Reader's Companion dates the events of Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth to 21 BBY.
