AT-AT snowshoes were snowshoes that resembled the feet of AT-AT[1] walkers.[2] The snowshoes were round and had flat claws on three sides. Each snowshoe had a strap in the middle that went over the wearer's foot. Additionally, strings could be tied to holes in the snowshoes and strapped over the foot of the wearer. The middle of the snowshoes had a ridged base for the wearer's feet to be placed on.[1] The former Sith[3] known as the Ronin wore AT-AT snowshoes while traversing snow on Mount Hakamori on an astronomical object.[1] His astromech droid, R5-D56, wore a similar pair of snowshoes that lacked the claws on the front and back and had one straight side.[1]
Behind the scenes
AT-AT snowshoes were created for the non-canon one-shot comic Visions 1, written and illustrated by Takashi Okazaki and published by Marvel Comics on October 12, 2022.[1] However, they were not visible in the final comic.[4] Before the release of the comic, a StarWars.com article published on June 15 of the same year revealed concept art of the snowshoes by Okazaki. They were identified in Japanese as AT-AT かんじき[1] (AT-AT kanjiki), meaning AT-AT snowshoe.[5]
