ARO was a company that manufactured the GC-8 model of librarian and guardian-protector droid.[1] By 19 BBY,[2] the GC-8 unit Cator served the Jedi Order in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, ARO was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy.[1] Aro originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was mentioned in Cynabar's Fantastic Technology: Droids, a 1997 supplement to Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Drew Campbell and Eric S. Trautmann and published by West End Games.[3]
