The 12-4C-41/b was a stripped down model of the 12-4C-41 traffic control droid manufactured by SoroSuub Corporation. The droids had limited cognitive modules and were substantially cheaper than the traffic control model. Their primary purpose was to act as mobile landing beacons for incoming ships, with multiple units using their zero-gee maneuvering jets to position themselves in the vacuum of space. The in-built landing beacon in their bodies would then be used to illuminate approach vectors and pathways for vessels to follow.[1]
