Two individuals lived during the High Republic Era.[1] Around 247 BBY,[2] they were members of the Elders of the Path—a religious group that believed against use of the Force—and had a Force-sensitive Mikkian[1] daughter[3] named Zeen Mrala.[1] By 237 BBY,[2] when Mrala was a small child,[1] she[3] was separated from her parents; they went to live in a different commune from their daughter, as the group did not believe in close connections between parents and their children.[1] In 232 BBY,[2] while she lived on the Outer Rim planet Trymant IV, Mrala mentally reflected on her life and recalled being seperated from her parents, noting they had "disappeared" into another commune.[1]

Behind the scenes

Zeen Mrala's parents were first mentioned in the first issue of the 2021 comic series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures, published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I. The issue was written by Daniel José Older and published by IDW Publishing on February 3, 2021.[4]

  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 The High Republic: Midnight Horizon establishes that Alys Ongwa is seventeen years old during its events. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of Midnight Horizon to 230 BBY, she must have been born around 247 BBY. Midnight Horizon also states that Zeen Mrala is around the same age as Ongwa, therefore placing her birth around the same year. The High Republic Adventures (2021) 1, which Timelines dates the events of to 232 BBY, establishes that the Elders of the Path settled on Trymant IV when Mrala was ten years old, meaning she must have been separated from her parents by 237 BBY.
