The gambler Zarro Flynn organized an invite-only sabacc tournament on[1] the Hutt Space moon[2] Nar Shaddaa[1] by 3643 BBY,[3] during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.[1]
Around that year,[3] an individual associated with one of the two opposing governments in the Cold War sent a companion of theirs to Flynn's tournament, despite it being an invitation-only event, with the intention of seeking black market opportunities. One of the tournament's participants, a Zeltron gambler, put up some rare possessions as collateral on a loan and then proceeded to lose, which was beneficial for the companion.[1]
Behind the scenes
Zarro Flynn's sabacc tournament was mentioned in BioWare's 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic within the Crew Skill Mission "Into the Sabacc Pit", though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the video game.[1]

- ↑ 3.0 3.1 Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "Into the Sabacc Pit" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
