The zardimallo was a rare[2] species of non-sentient quadrupedal lizard. They had had green skin and could roll up into a ball.[1] The species was highly valued and therefore sought by many factions.[3]
Shortly after the rise of the Galactic Empire, renegade Clone Force 99 was hired by Cid to retrieve an individual of the species, whom squad member Omega named "Ruby." The squad intercepted the lizard from the Rhokai gang, who had stolen it from an unknown source. The squad successfully delivered her to Cid's Parlor on Ord Mantell to be given to her client, though Cid did not know what it would be used for.[1]
