- "A small gift from Count Dooku. A delicacy. Take heart: the Yanthans who remove the venom sacs rarely make a mistake. And even if they do—it is said to be a good death."
- ―Asajj Ventress
The Yanthans were beings[2] from the Yantha system[1] who expertly excised venom sacs from windsnakes, creatures native to the planet Ploo II.[2] Around 22 BBY,[3] Separatist[2] Commander[4] Asajj Ventress presented the X'Ting criminal Trillot with two windsnakes that had had their venom sacs removed by Yanthans, noting that they were a gift from her superior, Count Dooku. Ventress indicated that Yanthans rarely made mistakes with the removal of the sacs but described the instances in which they were unsuccessful to be a "good death."[2]
Behind the scenes
Yanthans were mentioned in the 2004 novel The Cestus Deception, written by Steven Barnes.[2]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Yanthans in relation to the Yantha system.
