Description

The TT-8L/Y7 model was a variant of the standard TT-8L gatekeeper droid model. Serv-O-Droid saw that their droid had applications beyond serving the rich; criminals, recluses, and the paranoid also needed a droid that could screen callers. However, in these cases, direct confrontation was a priority and the Y7 model could interrogate visitors and scan them for weapons.[1]

Designed for direct installation into a door, doorframe, or entrance alcove, the Y7 was a rigid stem constructed of black durasteel. The optical lens of the Y7 was capable of scanning in low-light, ultraviolet, and infrared, and illuminating the area with a spotlight.[1]
