X-8 blaster droids, or simply X-8 droids,[2] were a model of droid designed by[1] Efrain[3] and manufactured by the Galactic Empire after Efrain's plans were stolen. The Empire started mass-production of the X-8 droids in a facility on the planet Kuat. Jarrod Kelvin, Efrain's apprentice, was sent on a mission to the facility to destroy all Imperial X-8 droids and reacquire Efrian's plans. X-8 droids were based on the same droid line J4X-7 was developed from. The droids were designed for combat and possessed blasters.[1]
