Wyron Serper was a male Human who served with the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War.^[2]^[3]

Biography

Serper was known as a sensor specialist, and once infiltrated the Star Destroyer Avenger. Onboard, he became familiar with Imperial starship sensor images, and, while later serving at Echo Base, was tasked with scanning the Hoth asteroid field for approaching Imperial vessels.^[3]

As Echo Base's sensor and communications expert, Captain Serper discovered the presence of a Viper probe droid on Hoth, prior to the Imperial invasion. Serper's findings allowed Han Solo time to destroy the probe droid, though his efforts could not halt the Imperial advance.^[2]

During the battle, Imperial forces breached the main command center, from which Serper and his team were attempting to evacuate. A squad of snowtroopers killed the entire team after trapping them in the command center.^[1]

Behind the scenes

Wyron Serper first appeared as an unknown Rebel officer in the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, portrayed by Candian actor Burnell Tucker, credited as a portraying one of several "other officers."^[2] In addition to portraying Serper, Tucker also portrayed another Rebel officer, Romas Navander in the same film, and previously portrayed Del Goren in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Serper was later given a name and brief backstory in the November 1996 Hoth Limited expansion set of the Star Wars Customizable Card Game.^[3]
