A wormhole was a point in space that led to another part of space, faster than light, similar to when a ship entered hyperspace. A piece of ancient technology that no scientist could crack was a giant gate in space that could create wormholes. This gate was the start of the Dragon Void Run that Han Solo participated in. The first ship through the gate won the prize and freedom from the void.[1]
