PD-28
Was I supposed to get PD-28 specifically approved? Anyway, it's up and running now. I promise only to do edits which are requested (simple category moves and text replacements, for example.) —Silly Dan (talk) 02:32, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

- The bot has already been blocked twice for some edits. Who knows, maybe with new rules and standards, this can work out. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:54, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- True. By green I mean that I can work the bot, just not use it correctly or use it on this wiki.--Herbsewell 21:59, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Mnemnos
- Bot name: Mnemos
- Software: Most likely Pywikipedia with Python 2.5
- Not actually started yet, but I thought I'd get approval that the bot was necessary before I actually did start.
To clarify, this bot would go through and change year articles so that they had the proper new year template, and automatically make the necessary calculations for the four dating systems. The reason I'm asking first is because there aren't actually all that many year articles when you get down to it.

BotZero
Hello. I am here today to discuss BotZero being able to help out here. I understand that i don't have many edits, mostly due to the fact that i am a bit burnt out from doing so. What the bot runs on is AWB which is Auto Wiki Browser. what it would do is Typo fixing, basic cleanup of pages, and user requests. I have to manually look at what the bot does, and then save it myself. it's an assisted editing bot basically. I believe Xd1358 can vouch for me, that i know what i'm doing. so thanks for your time! Cheers. --KATANAGOD

Dead Link?
Hi. Sorry if it's the wrong place to ask. The link to the database dumps is down. I'd like to get a copy of the Wookieepedia to read offline, is this possible? Feel free to delete this post if it's irrelevant or wrong :) Thanks.
- Yeah, I'm not really sure why the dump appears to be down. It's not really possible to get an offline copy. For any other questions like this, post them in the Forum:Senate Hall. —Xwing328(Talk) 05:55, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Request for bot flag
- Bot name: 2-YJV
- Software: Pywikipedia
- I'd like to use this bot for fixing all links while I move all pages that need to be moved due to this CT, and for possible future tasks like for example. category moving, weblink checking and the other things that can be made with this kind of bot. Please let me know if I already meet the requirements to run a bot or if there are things I have to do first. Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 13:11, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- We'd probably have to see that you have a bit of experience running scripts with the bot on the wiki before we actually give it the bot flag. —Xwing328(Talk) 02:32, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- I made a first run today, and hope to do another one tomorrow. Everything worked fine, I just had to edit two semi-protected pages because the bot isn't yet autoconfirmed. If I made anything wrong while running the bot, please advise. Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 09:28, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- The second run unfortunately did not really work. I ran the script category.py, and everything worked fine, except that the bot moved the interwiki links above the categories like with the category feature. I tried to fix the error and looked for bug information in the web, but failed to fix it. Since I'm able to run replace.py without any errors, would that be enough to get bot flag, provided that I won't use category.py until it properly works? Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 14:52, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- I actually usually use replace.py instead of category.py for recat operations anyway. We do some odd things with category link layouts. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 16:18, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hm, but if you just replace the text, how do you ensure that the categories still appear in alphabetical order? Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 19:22, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- There are various configuration settings that adjust how the bot performs by default, such as placing interwiki links at the top of the page or before categories. It's handy to know a bit of Python if you're going to be messing around with existing pywikipedia scripts or writing your own for specific tasks. A few of these allow you to put categories in order. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:19, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Dr. Ball, M.D.
- Bot name: Dr. Ball, M.D.
- Software: Pywikipedia
- Controller: Grunny
- Thanks to Culator for help setting it up, I have so far successfully ran a few scripts using both replace.py and category.py to rename categories and replace text. I have experience with Python programming and the bot will be used for maintenance tasks, renaming categories, and will take requests. Grunny (Talk) 08:37, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

- You'll want to be careful with some of your replacements. I noticed one script you ran was to replace [[Death Star I with [[DS-1 Orbital Battle Station. Unless you use some regex or more specific matches like [[Death Star I| and [[Death Star I]], you could easily replace things you don't want to like [[Death Star II. Just a heads up since I ran into this many times when I first started Whistler. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:12, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
AJTD6
- Bot name: AJTD6
- Software: AWB
- Controller: Master Jonathan
- Well, I was going to wait until I had more experience before requesting a bot flag, but AWB seems easy enough to use, so might as well get the flag so I don't flood recent changes. Basically, this is for handling any task simple enough that I can program it but too tedious/repetitive to do manually. I've already got it working an old bot request at a slow speed as I type this. I don't forsee using this bot a whole lot, but it will take requests; also, I do have a tendency to occasionally go on cleanup sprees, and this would enable me to do that without flooding recent changes. - Looks okay, and AWB is pretty straight forward to use (just be careful of some auto-formatting stuff from Wikipedia that we don't want/use). Make sure to ask if you're unsure of anything, and I've given it the flag to stop flooding for now, but people can still raises any objection here. :) grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 04:41, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, the first thing I did was shut all that auto-formatting stuff off. The only thing it should change is what I explicitly tell it to. I probably won't ever use any of the auto-formatting even under my regular account. Master Jonathan — Jedi Council Chambers Monday, September 19, 2011, 04:50 UTC

Inactive bots
We have a few inactive bots that haven't been used since 2007, and I'm planning on having the bot flag removed on the accounts unless anyone has any objections? The bots in question are R2-D2, C-3PO and PD-28. Grunny (Talk) 04:23, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
