Friendly and easy going are a few words to describe Trip. Over the past month, Trip has shown that he is a dedicated Wookieepedian, who is willing to learn. He has a keen eye on monitoring the rc page and reverting bad edits, when necessary. Not only that, he has become a regular on IRC. There, Trip often alerts administrators and users of ongoing vandalism occurring on the Wook. Once reverted, Trip then understands the steps to stop the vandal (if the vandal contiunes), without violating policies, such as 3RR. Besides reverting, Trip often corrects categories and fixes redirects (he usually floods the rc page :P ). I would say that he deserves to be Wookieepedian of the Month for his continuous dedication. Even though he does not promote articles to status quality, which is often mentioned in these WOTM noms, it should not be a concern. Maintaining and keeping the Wook clean is good enough in my book. Everything I've seen from Trip is positive. I have never seen him be too "revert-happy." Even if he is, I hardly think that is a reason to oppose. To be brutally frank, people have gained much more prestigious titles on Wookieepedia when they were much worse off than Trip. In answer to Menkooroo, I think you're pointing out one very weak negative aspect of Trip and ignoring the many good things about him. In this day and age of the Wook, users often get slammed for reverting too much. While I don't support being ignorant in reverting, I think it's better to be on the lookout for vandalism and revert it than to sit back and ignore it. And what does that mean? It means sometimes you get a little ahead of yourself and revert something that shouldn't have. But at least you were trying. You go back, fix whatever it was you reverted incorrectly, then be on the lookout again for vandalism. Trip has my support.—Cal Jedi(Personal Comm Channel) 13:18, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Trip definitely deserves to win. I see him active basically every night, doing one thing or another. He has also become a regular in the IRC and is a very pleasant person to talk to. Helping to keep the Wook clean is a noble duty, so here's to you Trip. :P Supreme Emperor (talk) 13:36, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Trip is indeed a friendly and superb user, and it's to his good credit that he's doing what he can to immerse himself as a positive asset to the core group of our wiki community. Trip is still a relatively new user, but I think he's doing a fantastic job overall in his RC patrolling, and I think it's silly and overly critical for someone like Menkooroo to try and bring the hammer down on the poor guy for making a few novice mistakes. I see Trip regularly in our IRC channel notifying the admins on duty of any ongoing vandalism, and I believe he recognizes the fact that he's still learning when it comes to fighting vandalism. I've observed him to be open and receptive to advice when someone gives it to him, and that's the kind of quality that makes for a great Wookieepedian. Not everyone is perfect, but when someone does as solid a job as Trip does, we should be encouraging their positives, not nitpicking their negatives. Keep up the good work, Trip. Don't let the Negative Nancies slow you down. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:02, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Perhaps Trip needs to improve with dealing with users, and he can work on that, however there is no denying that he is a wikibeast that has helped the Wookieepedia immensely. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:06, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
We can find faults in all of us. I need more than a slightly trigger-happy revert button to change my mind here. Trip's a good user. Btw, Marty is deserving too, but I feel Trip in more appropriate for Wookieepedia of the Month this month. ;) MasterFred(Whatever) 23:24, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Trip is a great user, and the best part is that he is learning from mistakes. Excellent choice. CadeCalrayn 00:28, July 2, 2013 (UTC)
I've never opposed a WOTM nom before, and truthfully, I've always been critical of those who do. But Trip is way, way too quick to revert others' edits --- I've seen him revert helpful edits by anons seeimgly simply because they're anons; revert additions to talk pages that are legitimate suggestions on how to improve the article; and default to flat-out reverting someone's edit when all it needed was a simple correction to its formatting. I know that WOTM is a harmless vote, and I really won't care if Trip wins, but I honestly think that we should encourage him to curb his reversion-happy attitude rather than validate it. The man's contributions speak for themselves. 500 edits in the last month, and hundreds more in the months prior, worth of going through the post-ROTJ EU and giving ridiculously comprehensive beef-ups (beefs-up?) to various novels' Appearances sections (and adding the novels to the individual articles' "Appearances" sections, too). This kind of gruntwork is a huge boon to the site, and I saw we recognize Marty for his hard work. Menkooroo (talk) 00:56, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
Keep the good work up. 501stdogma(talk) 12:26, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
