Fourth Battle of Kuat

(Taken to FA by 501st dogma on October 2, 2012)

A battle was fought between Imperial and New Republic forces during the Galactic Civil War for control of the planet Kuat and its vital shipyards, owned by the Imperial-aligned company Kuat Drive Yards, in 8.5 ABY. The Imperial forces at Kuat—led by Admiral Teren Rogriss and consisting of the Star Dreadnought Aurora, three battlecruisers, and over a dozen Star Destroyers—faced only the Republic RZ-1 A-wing interceptors of Surprise Squadron.

However, the ion weaponry of the A-wings disabled the systems of four cruisers, while a virus caused five Imperial warships to turn their batteries on their allies. That turn of events, plus the fact that the New Republic owned a significant portion of the KDY shares and had Mon Calamari Star Cruisers stationed near the Kuat system, prompted the leading members of KDY to surrender to the New Republic forces, under the command of military figures Admiral Gial Ackbar, Wedge Antilles, Tycho Celchu, and Airen Cracken, as well as Minister of Commerce Ral'Rai Muvunc. Hume Tarl

(Taken to FA by 501st dogma on October 10, 2012)

Sergeant tarl

Hume Tarl was a Human male from the planet Corellia, who served in the Galactic Empire's Stormtrooper Corps after graduating from the Academy on the world Corulag. Tarl joined the stormtrooper unit Tempest Force around 2 BBY, and later participated in the assault on the Rebel CR90 corvette Tantive IV as a part of the Galactic Civil War, a conflict between the Rebels and the Empire. Sometime after 0 BBY, Tarl, now a sergeant, was posted in Corellia's Coronet City, where he was helped by a spacer who captured Dina Whisper, one of Tarl's informants whom he suspected of betraying him, and disabled a small black market. After six years in Tempest Force, Tarl took part in the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, where he fought against both native Ewoks and Rebels seeking to destroy the Empire's Death Star II. Tarl survived the battle, and years later, he was interviewed by the journalist Cindel Towani for her work Portraits of the Galactic Civil War, released in 41 ABY. (Read more…)

A LONG TIME AGO...

(Taken to FA by Imperators II on March 26, 2023)

"The Zhell and the Taungs Are Names to Conjure By, But the Truth About These Long-Lost Combatants Is Hard to Pin Down"
―Eschul Shaywa, lead sentence of "A LONG TIME AGO..."[1]
"A LONG TIME AGO..." was an article authored by Eschul Shaywa and published in the periodical Imperial Center Today in 2 ABY. It focused on the paucity of available historical information on the Taungs and the Zhell, two groups whose 200,000-year-old conflict was depicted in the ancient epic poem Dha Werda Verda despite their importance in the culture of the planet Coruscant. Shaywa opened the article by briefly recapping the poem's composition and plot, followed by historian Mesh Burzon's commentary on the connection between the Dha Werda Verda and the contemporary Mandalorian warrior culture. Military history scholar Hu Jibwe also drew attention to the related Mandalorian war chant "Rage of the Shadow Warriors."

At that point, Shaywa's article refocused on the academics' struggles to ascertain the historicity of the events of the Dha Werda Verda. Both Hu and the scholar Arhul Manaxa offered comments about the disagreements on various aspects of those events, such as their exact location, date, and whether they had even happened at all. "A LONG TIME AGO..." concluded with a personal story by Shaywa in which they questioned the Imperial Center Guard trainer Swart Swifto about the deliberations of scholars regarding both the poem and the Taungs and the Zhell, to which Swifto replied that, instead of historical details, it was the metaphorical bond between all combatants that was important. HK-01

(Taken to FA by Imperators II on July 31, 2023)

HK01-NEGTD
"The survival of the Republic was predicated on two factors: wise governing from administrators and lawmakers, and a preservation of harmony by the Jedi Knights. This harmony was threatened during the Great Droid Revolution (4015 B.B.Y.), when thousands of droids—everything from sanitation to protocol to military models—rose up en masse against their owners. The Jedi destroyed the ringleader, the assassin droid HK-01, and put down the mutiny with a minimum of casualties."
―A Galactic Alliance historical document[2]
HK-O1, also known as the HK-01 assassin-droid prototype, was a prototype HK-series assassin droid created by Czerka Corporation. He eventually escaped the company's laboratories and secretly reprogrammed thousands of droids of different types to function as a hidden army waiting for his command. In 4015 BBY, HK-01 ordered his droid army to turn on their organic owners, causing the violent event known as the Great Droid Revolution, during which the assassin droid gained control over thousands of worlds, including the Galactic Republic capital Coruscant. After a three-month struggle, a team of Jedi tracked down and destroyed HK-01, although the legacy of his actions, which included heightened anti-droid sentiment in the galaxy and a blow to the growing droid rights movement, lasted for centuries.
