"The Call" is the thirteenth episode of Star Wars Rebels Season Two. In this episode, the crew of the Ghost goes in search of fuel in a Mining Guild asteroid mine and encounters a group of creatures known as purrgil.

During the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire, the crew of the Ghost is in desperate need of fuel for their ship and for Phoenix Cell. They plan to steal a shipment of fuel meant for the Empire from a Mining Guild asteroid mine, where they also encounter creatures known as purrgil. Ezra Bridger forms a strong Force connection with the creatures and comes to understand who they are and why they are at the mine.

Every Star Wars Rebels episode is chock full of nods and connections to other canon stories and Star Wars Legends. Here's what we found in 'The Call:'
- The Mining Guild was first referenced in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and made its first canonical appearance in the novel A New Dawn.
- The purrgil have a strong resemblance to whales, and have been affectionally referred to online as "space whales." In the canon comic series Star Wars: Darth Vader, "space whale"-like creatures also appeared in the form of Whale-ship.
- This episode marks the first time on-screen that we see TIE fighters specifically repurposed to be used by a faction other than the Galactic Empire.
- Boss Yushyn, the Mining Guild leader in this episode, was based on an unused sketch by Ralph McQuarrie for the bounty hunters in The Empire Strikes Back.
- Kanan Jarrus wears a stormtrooper helmet painted by Sabine Wren, the crew's resident artist. The design is that of a loth-cat, a creature that lives on Lothal.
