I really don't see what's wrong with this. It's a good navigational template; are you proposing a replacement or just its abolishment? RMF 05:15, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

  • I feel that, given the nature of this wiki, it is really unnecessary. The categories already serve the purpose this template attempts. They are linked to on the main page and aremore helpful. They make the template obselete. And the entries to the template are really arbitrary. So yes, I'm proposing that it be wiped from the face of this wiki. Adamwankenobi 05:39, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
    • I agree, especially with regard to the arbitrary nature of the template. For example, while Splinter of the Mind's Eye is significant for being the very first EU product, there's no logical way that it can be argued as more worthy of inclusion in "notable books and comics" than the Hand of Thrawn duology, which depicted the end of the Galactic Civil War. • Categories alone can never be a replacement for navigation templates. This is why they exist on Wikipedia. By deleting this template, we'll set a dangerous precedent for a great template purge. - Sikon [Talk] 09:45, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
    • This particular template seems to me to be dubious at best in its usefulness, and someone's very arbitrary decisions on what parts of the EU are "notable" (as I mentioned above, the books containing arguably one of the two most significant events in post-Endor history aren't even on it) doesn't seem appropriate for an encyclopedia. Not to mention, a navigation template ought to be fairly small. When a nav template takes up nearly a full page height (at 1024x768), it's probably too big. But there's no way you can shrink this one down without eliminating its purpose. Red XIV 04:15, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Alas we do not want a purge. I hope you mean to replace it. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:40, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
