Breaking the fourth wall (talk - history - links - logs)

This article is an orhpan, it's a generic term, and the content is speculative. -- Ozzel 01:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

  2. Needs to be expanded and improved, certainly, but not deleted I don't think. Might even be a way to keep from having any further arguments about the Portuguese man-o'-war.—Unsigned comment by Wildyoda (talk • contribs)

  1. Looking vaguely in the direction of the camera is not breaking the fourth wall. Away with it. Havac 05:07, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
  2. Per Havac. Breaking the fourth wall is when you directly converse or look at the audience. Both of those examples are neither. .... 09:01, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

  5. The Threepio one is pretty obvious, but the Fett one less so. And one instance does not an article make.--Valin Kenobi 05:07, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  6. Doesn't appear either one is a legitimate fourth wall violation. See fourth wall. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:14, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
  7. While the idea is sound for the 3PO example, it's just a dictionary definition and one example isn't enough for an article. It would probably be good to note it in the ESB or 3PO article, though. - Lord Hydronium 05:30, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Though it is speculative, I believe the information is worthwhile. I seem to recall a specific mention of the Threepio bit in an issue of Insider. Not sure exactly what we'd merge with, though. Maybe the films' articles? -- Ozzel 01:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
    • If somebody can cite the specific issue, it would certainly merit a mention in Threepio's BTS. We could just link to Wikipedia's fourth wall article for that. Red XIV 20:05, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
