The original verbatim first line is "Ours is a path of service." However, to use it verbatim and identify what ours is referring to (the Jedi way) would require using Granta's previous line, which is a little lengthy and mostly irrelevant to the dialogue above and would significantly detract from the quality of the quote, hence the bracketed rewording.
