  • Is there a policy decision to have travel times in the BtS? Because, IMO, it doesn't quite work, since BtS is for strictly OOU information. I think it would warrant its own section in the article. Thefourdotelipsis 22:49, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
    • It is a deliberate decision on my part. I am reluctant to declare the times canonical and not just gameplay, and so see placing it in the Bts as the best option. The reason I am reluctant is that "for gameplay reasons, the map had to be divided into 20 sectors of 10 planets each and regions were simply divided into the Core and Rim" (Here). The travel times have also been known to be wrong on a number of occasions, for instance, I think the time between Despayre and Coruscant is 22 days, yet we know the Death Star traveled to Alderaan significantly quicker than that. Likewise, SW:R gave a significant travel time btw Alderaan (actually Delaya, its sister planet) and Yavin, when from the movies we know it was relatively short. For me, this casts doubt on the canonicity of all the travel times; however, that said, Chee's words on the map were "Things that do not contradict established continuity can be considered canon, including any locations developed specifically for game (Abdrim, Calaron sector, Azbian, Nam'ta)." This could be interpreted to mean the travel times are legit unless contradicted, but I think it refers to placement rather than travel time. I am open to a fuller discussion on this point, though. --Eyrezer 07:04, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
