"In the Imperial campaign of Empire at War, Polus is a Rebel-controlled planet which must be conquered or destroyed to win the campaign. However, as this contradicts with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, where the Death Star I is destroyed at Yavin IV and film canon overrides game canon, this information about Polus is non-canon." I don't get how this contradicts ANH. More explanation is needed.Chack Jadson (Talk) 14:24, July 24, 2010 (UTC)- Better? Clone Commander Lee Talk 17:24, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

For now, you need to expand the Polus' role in the GCW. It was a planet in the canon storyline from the game, if I recall correctly. Also, are you sure you double checked all sources? There's no mentioning of the planet elsewhere? JangFett (Talk) 17:20, July 18, 2010 (UTC)- Eh, no. In the canon storyline Polus is a normal planet. In the non-canon part of the Empire campaign it is a Rebel headquarter. But well this is non-canon and therefore not neccissary for the article. And I checked all other sources where info could be. Clone Commander Lee Talk 16:51, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

However, as this contradicts with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and film canon overrides game canon, this information about Polus is non-canon." Lee, how does it contradict ANH? In other words, what are you talking about? It seems to me that you don't realize that they're is more than one Rebel base in canon around the time of EaW's events. But do not flat out say that in the bts. You need to make sure you know what you're writing or else stuff like this will happen. Are you sure you doubled check the prima guides for information? - No, Lee, absolutely not. It seems you're not understanding the campaign mission story. The game is in no way contracting ANH. They are separate battles/story lines. Please go back and make you understand what is going on. Don't just remove it, however. Please, in the future, know what you're writing, know you sources well, or otherwise this will happen. Just one: "From 995 BBY until at least 990 BBY, the Pyn'gani Jedi Master Anno Wen-Chii and his Padawan Nalia Adollu resided on the planet." How do we know that Wen-Chii and Adollu were there that whole time? Rule of Two doesn't say that they were still there, just that they went there in 995 BBY, and hadn't been seen on Coruscant for the five years since. Please recall my objection here on this matter. These are my preliminary objections without even taking the time to read through the article:
- The article proper should mention the following points, which it does not currently:
Polus is the second planet from its sunCorrection: Polus has two suns, according to the infobox. You should identify the one that you can and mention the other. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:39, July 28, 2010 (UTC)- What ? All we know is that Polus had two suns and both spend their light on the planet.
- Eh I do not understand. How should I identify the suns. We only know that there were two.
- What ? All we know is that Polus had two suns and both spend their light on the planet.
Polus is orbited by one moon. Do we know this moon's name?- No, but added him to the description.
The planet's diameter- Added.
- Dral'k ice worms inhabit the planet
- Added.
- Dral'k ice worms are not inhabitants. They are non-sentient fauna, which belongs in the "Description" section. Please refer to the Layout Guide when writing articles. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:58, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

The Pyn'gani language evidently is the dominant language spoken on the planet- Added.
- The planet's population is 600,000. Also, 600,000 what? Specify, if possible
- Added, but what we don't know what 600,000.
- Well, something made you think 600,000 "people" live on the planet. I'm willing to bet no source makes that claim. This needs to be fixed. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:58, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

- The Republic is mentioned as an affiliate in the infobox, but the Rebel Alliance is mentioned in the article. Fix this.
- Added.
- Nothing in the article proper itself seems to support a true Republic affiliation. It only says two Jedi traveled to the planet at one time. You'll need to clear this up somehow. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:58, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

- It's not good enough to leave all this information strictly in the infobox. This needs to be detailed in the text. Once these objection points are satisfied, I will give it a proper review. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:38, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

- To further echo what Jang is saying below, every planet in EaW/FoC has a unique and detailed mission. I don't remember what Polus's involvement in the game is, but surely there must be more to its role than the single sentence this article affords it. To quote GAN Rule 1, Good articles must be well-written and detailed. This article does not qualify as being well-detailed, presuming its as detail-lacking as I believe it is. I suggest you actually go through and play the Polus mission and add in every pertinent detail of information you can find. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:59, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
- I'll check this right after adressing the objections above. Clone Commander Lee Talk 08:31, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
- There is no special mission on or about Polus. All information from the game(s) is added. Clone Commander Lee Talk 17:29, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, it hasn't. Every planet in EaW, including Polus, has a specific mission profile, which, as I understand it, is not always triggered in every play-through of the story line, meaning you can't just land on a planet and trigger the mission at will. You have to play through the story line in a specific sequence of events. I've taken the liberty of reading through the game guide to see exactly what you're missing, and it is there. Considering you obviously haven't done this, and this nomination has been sitting here for weeks now largely as a result of your inability to properly research this article subject according to the sources already listed in the article, I'm going to give this nomination the remainder of the weekend before I start a removal vote. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:44, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Ouch. I checked the prima guide completely. If you mean this part (You do not have to use the Death Star on each planet. Instead, you could send a space fleet to secure the orbit and then an invasion force.) I'll check if there is a special ground mission. If not I've got no idea what you mean. Clone Commander Lee Talk 10:47, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
- I replayed it and if you mean this part: A attack on Polus results in the usual task: destroy all enemy forces to win. Clone Commander Lee Talk 10:17, August 22, 2010 (UTC)*
- This has grown beyond ridiculous. I've read through the guide myself, and this article is missing information, both IU and OOU game mechanics and strategy stuff that should be described both in the article proper and the BTS. There are four pages, specifically, in the guide that contain information that will likely need to be included in this article. I'm going off a less-than-ideal pdf file, but I believe the pages are 150, 152, 235, and 237, or right around there. It's up to you as the nominator to perform the required research necessary to ensure an article is satisfactorily comprehensive. It's not my or any AC or Inq's responsibility to do the research for you, and it's certainly not our responsibility to teach you how to write articles. The information in these pages is pretty straightforward, yet you claim you've read through it and have found nothing to add. If you can't read these pages and discern for yourself what needs to be included in an article, then that's not our problem. You've been at the article writing game long enough for you to be able to figure this out, and I've given you almost two months now to find the plain-as-day information that's missing from this guide. I'm giving you until Monday morning my time to satisfy this objection before a removal vote will be started. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:27, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Articles are meant to be illustrated by images to the extent that the text of the article itself supports these images. To quote the Layout Guide: Images should be placed where they are most relevant and should not interrupt the flow or the aesthetics of the article. This article's image of the Pyn'gani is so large that not only does the text not support it, it overlaps all the way through the Sources section, which is ridiculous and looks awful. This is a legitimate case of an image "interrupting the aesthetics of the article." I suggest choosing one image for the body of the article and formatting it so that it does not extend into the BTS.Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:14, August 20, 2010 (UTC)- Formatted.

- Lee, I still feel like you're missing a lot of information regarding the canon storyline from both EaW games. I have to agree with Toprawa's objection of the article being sparsely detailed. You could definitely expand the planet's role in both EaW games, and also expand the Pyn'gani section. The species even had a role within the game.
The planet was also featured in a Darth Bane novel, IIRC. In Rule of Two, it was in multiple scenes. In this article, however, I only see one short summarized sentence. Please go back and take care of these issues, Lee. JangFett (Talk) 20:51, July 28, 2010 (UTC)- See above. - Apparently there's some seriously vital info missing of which I was not aware, so I suppose I'll withhold support until it's added. However, on that note, Polus did not actually appear in Rule of Two—it was mentioned only. (And IIRC, all the info on it from the novel is present in the article.)
