- There's a lot of detail that I don't think is relevant to the union itself.
"…Republic Chancellor Mon Mothma became unsettled by the Union's rise to power alongside the Confederacy of Corporate Systems, another growing galactic government. She was additionally distressed by the Sovereign Latitudes of Maracavanya, an organized government of pirates that roamed the galaxy and was governed by the "pirate ruler of Wild Space," Eleodie Maracavanya." I'd trim this so it just lists the latter two governments without going into extensive detail about them.- Done.
