Object

Cav
  • that were about the size of a Yuuzhan Vong chest. - what type of chest? A chest on a body, or a chest to keep things in?
    • Is that better?
  • The FF info - is there no way to reconcile this feature of the creatures being combined to create a large instrument? Perhaps as a secondary characteristic of the creature? - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 20:03, March 8, 2014 (UTC)
    • I'm not sure. Would it not be speculation to assume that they could be combined together to form a bigger instrument? Additionally, since the FF mentions that two crab-harps were connected to the drum, and all three were present at the ceremony unattached on Duro, I believe that the author just misinterpreted the facts. However, if you believe that the attaching info is sound, I can add a something about it to the Bio section. 501st dogma(talk) 12:56, March 9, 2014 (UTC)
      • Well, it would not be speculation if an official source gives them the capability - does the FF info directly contradict the source novel, though, in stating that the creatures were connected during their use on Duro? - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 22:05, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
        • Here's the quote from the FF: "One widely used instrument consists of a pair of long-limbed crustaceans with their limbs locked in an extended position. These are joined to the body of an enormous drum-shaped creature by tendons which stretch taut, like translucent harp strings, creating both resonators and a sounding board." I don't think it's physically possible to switch a tendon's connections from the body to the tip of a limb, to attaching the crab-harp to the drum..... but then again, they are the Vong. You certain I should add that they can be connected to the drum critter in the Description section? —Unsigned comment by 501st dogma (talk • contribs) (17:23, March 24, 2014)
          • I think that would be straying too far into speculation territory. Best to keep it as you have it. - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 19:39, April 16, 2014 (UTC)
Winterz
  • Could we get a quote? Winterz (talk) 17:11, March 10, 2014 (UTC)
    • Sorry, there are no quotes that mention the harp. :( 501st dogma(talk) 19:56, March 17, 2014 (UTC)
Cadeth
  • Should the fact they are crustaceans not be mentioned in the intro?
    • There.
  • I think you should rework the biology sentence about the tendons. It sort of sounds like they only had tendons when their logs were locked in extended positions; maybe try something similar to what I did in the intro. Introduce the tendons first.
    • Better?
  • "genetically brought into existence" - wouldn't it be simpler to say they were genetically engineered or just created?
    • Done.
  • Do we have an article for the grand ceremony?
    • No, but it is important, as heretics seize the captives that were to be sacrificed in the middle of the ceremony. I've created a link, and will create the article later.
  • Should the {{Po}} not be a {{1stp}}? Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 17:51, March 17, 2014 (UTC)
    • Done, thanks for the review. 501st dogma(talk) 17:23, March 24, 2014 (UTC)
Toprawa
  • I object to the use of the "distinctions" infobox field. That's primarily used for physical distinctions of the species, like horns, teeth, etc. Its use for music doesn't really qualify.
  • This sentence is rather ponderous, and its meaning isn't readily clear to me after rereading it three times. Please reword for clarify: "Crab-harps had long legs with tendons linking the tips of their legs to their bodies, and their legs which could be locked in an extended position, allowing the tendons to be used to create music."
  • The 26 ABY dates apparently need to be referenced to a separate source, like ERC.
  • The BTS should note that they were first pictured in ERC. That's specifically notable. The fact that it was mentioned in CSWE is not. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 05:37, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
    • All done. Thanks for the review. 501st dogma(talk) 20:42, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Is there no way you could get a higher res version of that picture? Stake black msg 00:40, February 18, 2014 (UTC)

  • Well, it seems Cade could. :) Is that any better? (Thanks Cade) 501st dogma(talk) 22:59, February 24, 2014 (UTC)
