Object

Farlstendoiro wouldn't dare object Bea, but...
  • I see a number of POV and opinions. "When she was just four years old", "screen goddess Tallulah Bankhead".
    • "Just" jettisoned, but "screen goddess" comes right from the source I sourced!
  • "won her an Emmy Award in 1977" Can you tell me which one? (I can answer that: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, but the article should specify it.
    • Done.
  • May I mention that, following IMDB, 1977 was the fourth Emmy (of five) she won for Maude? Maybe you can mention that, too.
    • Five nominations, only one win. Added a lil' bit about it.
  • The caption of the image from Futurama specify her character; however, the article does not. Couldn't you add that tidbit of info to the text?
    • I like it the way it is, and here's why: Mentioning the character in the article itself would look odd when the characters on Malcolm and Curb aren't mentioned, so, enter the image caption to expand on the article's blurb and provide a picture of it! ^^ Menkooroo 08:51, July 18, 2010 (UTC)

Green Tentacle
  • Is there a good reason for going with "Acting career" instead of "Biography?" All our previous FAs on real people use the latter and it's less occupation-specific and better covers the non-acting bits.
    • I'm willing to change it, but hear me out --- calling it "Acting career" lets the reader know that her acting career is going to be the focus of this article, rather than a more broad biography that would go into detail about her personal life, marital problems, status as a gay icon, etc. Honest and not misleading. Thoughts?
      • I think the focus of it is spot on, but it does still touch on aspects of her personal life so it seems like biography covers it best to me. Plus consistency is desirable. I've discussed it with another Inq and they are of the same opinion. Green Tentacle (Talk) 19:43, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
        • You got it. Menkooroo 07:12, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Comments

  • More could be said about this wonderful woman, but I've followed a couple of precedents and kept it primarily about her acting career. Menkooroo 05:57, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
    • I swear I'll review this at some point soon, but you're my new favorite person for writing this article. Just had to let you know. I <3 Bea. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 06:27, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
  • I don't think we have a written rule on this, but I went through and removed all links to IU articles when discussing the real-world version of that subject. Feel free to revert if you strongly feel those links should be there, but I think linking to the IU definition of a term being used in an OOU sense is misleading (e.g. the Sexes article contains a lot of information unique to the Star Wars galaxy and totally irrelevant to what's being discussed). —Master Jonathan New Jedi Order (Jedi Council Chambers) 04:31, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
    • I think you're right on this one. Although I was sad to see breast go. Menkooroo 04:45, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
