  • "…an example of unethical actions that the Republic permitted." I haven't read the novel completely, but as far as I can see after reading the relevant chapter, the Republic didn't officially allow these actions of the Uro natives. If that's the case, I would suggest changing the word "permitting" or rewording the sentence.
