Question: Can humanoid be extrapolated to mean sentient? Our own article on humanoids is categorized in a sentient species category and since humanoid means human-like, I don't think it would be wrong to assume Tofallid were indeed sentient if the source in question explicitly identifies them as humanoid.1358 (Talk) 21:58, August 26, 2017 (UTC)- I don't think humanoid is actually an accurate descriptor in this instance. According to Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded, "The Prevalence of humanoid species in the galaxy has helped shape the forms of most protocol droids, as they are designed to mimic the life forms they interact with. PZ-4CO's anatomy is modeled on the long-necked Tofallid species". This would imply that Tofalid's aren't actually categorized as humanoid. -

- The phrasing to me suggested that it was giving an example of a humanoid form that has shaped droid design. I also feel that without any source clarifying that humanoids are always sentient we shouldn't assume it to be the case. Even if they can't be non-sentient they can still definitely only be semi-sentient. Ayrehead02 (talk) 11:12, August 27, 2017 (UTC)
