Forgive my foggy and most likely inaccurate memory, but I hazily recall a trend of planetnamia being used for solely species and the general "shared a name with" phrase becoming used in most other cases. Would Somahil fire gems qualify for planetnamia? Fan26 (Talk) 15:55, January 3, 2019 (UTC)- Actually, lately I'm not using the planetnamia template for "shared a name with", in those cases it's just sufficient to use the relevant sources for referencing. The template is, however, used for species and lots of other stuff, including beverages, events, crystals, diseases... If you go to this subpage of mine and click to sort the huge table by "Notes," you can actually see the various types of stuff I've used the template with on my CAs.
