Missing audiobook Lewisr(talk) 22:53, 15 September 2023 (UTC)- 'Axel thought it was all a bit hokey' I think this about the theory is worthwhile adding Lewisr (talk) 05:16, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

I think the real-life definition would still require some sourcing.Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 17:11, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
Based on the context in the novel and its real-life definition, I think treating the photoprotein as a species/organism in the infobox and categories seems a bit weird. Using {{Substance}} instead may be more appropriate perhaps? What do you think?Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 20:27, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
- I couldn't find a solid precedent for how any cellular-based subjects were formatted; I used the species infobox as midichlorians seemed the closest to what I was going for and they use that infobox as well. I couldn't use the infobox on the protein page as that's a food infobox for some reason (and photoproteins are never stated to be used in/as food). I'll try the substance infobox out though. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 03:09, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's pretty hard to find a precedent for this, as they are neither "life forms" like midi-chlorians nor a "food component" like regular proteins. Could you please also tweak the categories a little?

- I'm not really sure what categories would work better. There isn't a "bioluminescent organisms" category rather than just a "bioluminescent creatures" one. As for the "organisms of undefined sentience" one, I believe that one's fair as we don't know how independent photoproteins are for sure, just that the protein bit implies organicness. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 21:12, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- I went ahead and created a parent category for everything related to bioluminescence so we can document the photoprotein's property in categories without suggesting that it was a creature :)
