  1. Exiled Jedi
    • I'm confused about what you are referring to we you say their name in the article body and the image caption. I assume the their refers to the royal security forces, but could you make it clearer.
      • Not at all. I'm using "they" as a gender-neutral pronoun. "His"' in the BtS was a mistake. I could have used "he or she", but I think it's too cumbersome. --LelalMekha (talk) 16:02, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
        • Okay, that makes sense.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest (Greetings) 17:34, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
    • Is Iain's gender ever revealed? You mention "his name" in the BTS, but you do not identify him as a male. If Iain's gender was not identified, please place him in the unidentified gender category.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest (Greetings) 15:17, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
      • Fixed, but I'm unsure this is proper English grammar, so you might want to check and perhaps correct it. --LelalMekha (talk) 16:02, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
        • Looks fine to me.--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest (Greetings) 17:34, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
  2. A Force user
    • The Category: Naboo. Is that supposed to be his species? If so, it needs added to the article. If not, he needs the unidentified species category. Corellian PremierJedi symbolThe Force will be with you always 18:21, December 2, 2012 (UTC
      • Although Iain is most probably Human—I don't think there are other species in the Naboo Security Forces—we cannot speculate. That means you're right indeed. Fixed. --LelalMekha (talk) 18:27, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
  3. Savaged…
    • Do we know that the custom for Naboo pilots was to write their names on their helmets? If not, that assumption is probably too speculative. I mean, perhaps "Iain" was the manufacturer of the helmets, or the name of the squadron, or a personal decal put there by the pilot in reference to his pet mooka. ~SavageBOB sig 19:32, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
      • We have at least one confirmed example of such customization, which is that of Simon Jabesq (with "Simon" in futhork written on the helmet). I also found out about that guy, whose helmet reads "Bernie." Granted, the second example isn't a confirmed one, but since Simon, Iain and Bernie are proper names, it seems like a reasonable assumption to make in my eyes. One may disagree, of course. --LelalMekha (talk) 19:38, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
        • OK, in that case, it should be spelled out somewhere that we are making the assumption that the helmets correspond to the pilots' names and why. This could be done in the BTS, or in a footnote; your choice. ~SavageBOB sig 21:03, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
          • Done in BtS. See if you like it that way. --LelalMekha (talk) 21:16, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
            • Works for me! ~SavageBOB sig 21:49, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Iain!
    • Although it's used very commonly in everyday speech, "they" or "their" isn't considered formally grammatically correct in the case of an unknown gender --- "his or her" is the formal correct usage; alternatively, creative wording to avoid using a gender pronoun altogether would work.
      • Tweaked. --LelalMekha (talk) 10:17, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
    • A little nitpicky, but when using two reference notes together, be sure that they proceed in chronological order --- eg, [3][4] instead of [4][3]. Menkooroo (talk) 03:06, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
      • Fixed. --LelalMekha (talk) 10:17, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
  5. Starpower
    • I admit that I have been absent for some time, but if I'm reading the sources and Bts correctly: Iain does not actually appear in the movie to our knowledge? Would that mean the character is treated as ambig canon or cut content? Or do we believe it was certainly used on an extra who appeared onscreen? SinisterSamurai (talk) 04:38, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • The source is a canon source, so just the fact the helmet itself never appeared in the film doesn't stop Iain from being canon. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 04:43, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
        • Ok. SinisterSamurai (talk) 04:45, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

Comments

  • Not an objection, just out of curiosity is there any evidence if Iain is the given or the surname? IIRC Simon Jabesq's surname was written on his helmet. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 19:12, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
    • No evidence at all. But this helmet and also the one worn by Bernie Jabesq proves that the futhork mapping shown in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia hasn't been randomly invented by LucasArt for Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo. It was clearly created during the production of Episode I. I'm currently inquiring the helmets of other extras from the movie. --LelalMekha (talk) 19:18, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
