I feel like 'The pilot's squadron was assigned to defend TIE/sa bombers from Alliance forces while the bombers dropped vortex detonators on Nacronis to stoke the planets siltstorms' or something like that sounds better than the current wording because right now it can be misinterpreted as if the bombers were trying to stoke the siltstorms from the Alliance's side.- I slapped a couple extra words in for clarification but honestly I think the sentence does it right already. The context clause comes before the mention of the Alliance forces so it doesn't attribute to the rebels at all. Braha'tok enthusiast (Hello there) 10:43, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
The last sentence sounds like the squadron casualties were a result of the surface devastation, but you mentioned earlier that the squadron was flying and not on the surface. - To be honest, I think "Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing" provides context to what type of unit it is and its affiliation already. The same way "Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry" already tells you that it's an infantry unit in the Alliance.
