As the infobox is intended to cover an individual's entire life rather than one specific time period, is the "formerly" in the affiliation field appropriate?- I'm not sure; I've seen (formerly) in several article infoboxes before. To your knowledge, is there a specific time when they are or are not appropriate?
- I'm not a fan of using them at all, as they imply that the infobox (and by extension, the article) is only about a specific time in the character's life rather than the character's entire life. In some cases, I think "briefly" might be an OK substitute, but in this case, we don't know how long the character's affiliation with the Empire actually lasted, so I'd just leave "Galactic Empire" as is if I were you.
