Comet
  • I think the mention of Big Muhh in the report could be used as a quote
    • Added quote. ThePedantry (talk) 03:01, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
  • Kay should have context
    • Added human and thief was there more context you were thinking? ThePedantry (talk) 03:01, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
  • The last sentence of the BTS is unsourced CometSmudge (talk) 02:30, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

spookly
  • Is accessing the report required for 100% game completion? Seems like something that belongs in gamemechanics.—spookywillowwtalk 01:58, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
    • Accessing the report is required for completing the main quest of the Pirate's Fortune expansion so that's why it's not wrapped in a gamemechanic. ThePedantry (talk) 22:00, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
      • Okay, is completing Pirates Fortune required to progress to completion/final game stages of the main Outlaws game? That would be highly unusual if so. Anything not required to make the credits roll on a game's non-modded, original version is considered something for Gamemechanics-- DLCs included, as per wide precedent on other games.—spookywillowwtalk 22:04, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
        • A pirates fortune continues the story from the base game and has its own credits roll after you complete its main quest. We have been treating both story expansion's main quests as canon outside of gamemechanics. ThePedantry (talk) 22:12, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
          • If that's the case, at minimum it should be noted in the BTS—like for all other game material—"This article assumes 100% game completion of "A Pirate's Fortune." because you're still writing the article as if someone fully completed the game. Which is still not required to get the base game to "completed" status. There's plenty of other VG noms to justify noting that even when we assume content to be canon outside of tags, we leave this note so as to say we've assumed such in the lack of reference material outright stating so.—spookywillowwtalk 22:16, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
            • Do you happen to know a video game article I can look at as an example? ThePedantry (talk) 22:19, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
              • I mean, sure. Run a DPL for any of the few dozen Uprising noms, or Taron Malicos for example explicitly notes outright about material released post-main game, that includes him as a character but doesn't need to be completed to roll credits. I'm sure we can reach out to Navid again if necessary, but other than cases like Ilyana in which assumptions and the lack of gamemechanic tags are based on developer comments and further novel development, anything explicitly not required for game completion isn't something we can (or should) unilaterally declare 100% firm canon, at least not without saying we've done that in prose to the reader in the BTS, so they can know and decide for themselves. We don't have a ton of DLC-only noms, but there is a strange amount of dedication to insisting "this in its entirety must have occurred" when, you can quite literally finish the game, Kay wins and whatever, and not buy any DLCs or other optional content, when every other thing here will have been based on whether it was necessary to get to the end of [the specified game] and "win." Unless there's developer comments alluding to this having definitively occurred IU?—spookywillowwtalk 22:52, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
                • Reaching out to Navid would be useful to confirm how various articles should be written in relation to the Gamemechanic template, especially for notable characters like Hondo and Vess. ThePedantry (talk) 23:20, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
                  • Replying here to stop bot from misflagging; Navid has said he's away atm but will get back to us, so pausing for that briefly. If he doesn't within a reasonable time frame can move on, but as he's already sort-of reached back, polite to wait.—spookywillowwtalk 23:45, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
                    • Just leaving a small note since the last response was a little under 2 weeks and it seems Navid is away atm. Upon discussing the matter with spooky, I think we can leave out the gamemechanics template and instead just leave a small BTS note saying about 100% completion Lewisr (talk) 00:58, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
                      • Update the BTS per this suggestion. ThePedantry (talk) 02:53, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
                    • Updating to let Jocasta know. ThePedantry (talk) 18:01, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
                      • Just a note that will @ on Discord when/if we get a reply on that re: Navid to revisit if needed, but the PR team reached out and said that 'internal reorganization' or some such is probably why we haven't been gotten to. Gaming industry shenanigans I imagine.—spookywillowwtalk 23:58, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
