Wimmel was a burrowing mammal found on Ithor,[1] a planet that was the homeworld of the Ithorian species.[2] The mammal featured in many Ithorian bedtime stories, and some Ithorian females had "Wimmel" as a given name.[1]

Wimmel was mentioned in the 2003 reference book Galactic Campaign Guide, written by Peter M. Schweighofer and J.D. Wiker and published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[1]
