- "Jedi business, go back to your drinks."
- ―Anakin Skywalker, to Whimper Save and other clubgoers
Whimper Save was a mysterious Human female who, in 22 BBY, was on the planet Coruscant inside the Outlander Club with the con artist Dannl Faytonni at the same time as the bounty hunters Jango Fett and Zam Wesell. Sometime later, she was talking with Faytonni at the bar of the Outlander when Wesell entered the club trying to escape from the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. She turned to stare when Wesell's arm was cut off by Kenobi.
Biography
Save, Faytonni, and March turned to stare at Wesell.
Whimper Save was a mysterious[2] Human female.[1] In 22 BBY,[4] she[2] was on[5] the planet[6] Coruscant, visiting the Outlander Club,[5] a nightclub and gambling hall[7] in the Uscru Entertainment District of Coruscant.[8] She was in the company of[5] the con artist Dannl Faytonni[9] and[5] the anarchist criminal Reina March.[10] The group was at the club the same time as the bounty hunters Jango Fett and Zam Wesell.[5]
Shortly after,[11] at night, Save was once again in the Outlander Club with Faytonni and March when Wesell ran inside the club trying to escape from the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker after an assassination attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala.[3] She drank at the club's bar[12] and talked with Faytonni. When Kenobi made his way to the bar, a Human joined the trio and talked with March as Save watched her. When the Human left, Save turned her attention back to Faytonni, with whom she was holding hands with. A short while later, Save stared when Wesell's arm was cut off by Kenobi in an unsuccessful ambush. As Wesell was being helped up by the Jedi, a smiling Save started talking with Faytonni again. Skywalker then told the clubgoers to go back to their drinks.[3]
Personality and traits
Save was an enigmatic[1] and mysterious individual who was considered beautiful.[2] She had light skin, dark hair, and brown eyes.[1] It was unclear whether or not she was an associate of the con artist or if she was taken in by his security officer ruse.[2]
Equipment
Unlike other Outlander Club patrons,[2] Save wore a dark,[3] hooded outfit[2] during her visits to the club.[5][3]
Behind the scenes
- "The votes are in for the “Best Name in Episode II" awards, with Whimper Save edging out Jedi Knight Bultar Swan to win top honors in the so-unofficial-we-just-made-it-up competition."
- ―Daniel Wallace
The uncredited extra playing Save on set.
Whimper Save was created for the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,[3] which released on May 16, 2002.[13] The Outlander Club scenes, where Save was portrayed by an uncredited extra, were shot at Fox Studios, Sydney on July 17, 2000.[14] Prior to the film's release, Save was first pictured in the documentary "A Twinkle Beyond Pluto,"[15] released on July 31, 2001.[16] Save then first appeared in illustrations for both the film's storybook, written by Jane Mason and Sarah Hines Stephens,[17] and the young readers book Jango Fett: Bounty Hunter, written by Eric Arnold and illustrated by Valerie Reckert.[5] Both books were published on April 23, 2002.[18]
Whimper Save was first identified though the Image Attack feature on StarWars.com on November 26, 2002.[12] In the 2003 web article "Cantina Roll-Call: Shedding Light on Some Alien Aliases," Save is incorrectly identified as a different Outlander Club patron.[19] In the April 6, 2004[20] article "Who's Who in the Outlander Club: It's Ladies' Night," published in the seventy-fifth issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine, author Daniel Wallace pokes fun at Save's name, writing that Save won the "Best Name in Episode II" competition.[2]
