The Wellspring of Life was a planet located somewhere "in the heart of the galaxy," the homeworld to the midi-chlorians. Its surface appeared barren and heavily damaged, but life was plentiful in large open spaces deep beneath the ground. Large amounts of light were released from within the planet, which was hidden in the Force, and also appeared to negatively affect mechanical and electronic devices.

History

Near the end of the Clone Wars, the spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn sent Yoda to the planet so that he could learn how to preserve his consciousness after death from the Force Priestesses.[1]

Behind the scenes

The planet appears during the Yoda arc of the sixth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
