Wampas were a species of cave-dwelling, winged mammals similar to gigantic bats. They were native to the basalt planet Brazadann, and were ridden by the local Brazanites.[1]
When Daymon Thorn, the Emperor's "War Dog," attacked Brazadann City the citizens utilized Wampas to aid in defending their home. Due to how few airspeeders they had, the fighters rode about twenty Wampas into battle. The Brazanites mounted the Wampas loaded with explosives and proceded to bombard Thorn's aerial forces. During the battle, they lost about fifteen Wampas.[1]
Behind the scenes
Wampas appeared in the roleplaying adventure "La légende des cristaux" written by Christophe Debien and Patrick Bousquet for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The adventure was published in the seventy-sixth issue French Casus Belli magazine, released through July and August of 1993.[1]
