- "Wake rotation! We've got a mark in from hyperspace, sir—and it's a big one."
- ―The specialist warns Wilhuff Tarkin of an enemy warship
Wake rotation was a term related to hyperspace.[1]
Behind the scenes
Wake rotation was first mentioned in the James Luceno novel Tarkin, released in 2014.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, it was first mentioned in the James Luceno novel Millennium Falcon, released in 2008, where it was used to describe shuddering and groaning that a starship experienced while entering or exiting hyperspace.[2] The term was first proposed by Curtis Saxton on his Star Wars Technical Commentaries fan site.[3]
