WED 15 "Septoid 2" Treadwell toolkit droid

The WED 15 "Septoid 2" Treadwell toolkit droid,^[1] or WED-15 Septoid 2,^[5] was a model of WED Treadwell repair droid. Septoid 2s employed for use on Tatooine moisture farms would often chase sandflies, mistaking their whine for malfunctioning moisture vaporators.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia mistakenly identifies the WED-15 Septoid Treadwell as a Septoid 2,^[6] which is contradicted by multiple other sources.^[1][7][5]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, a card in Hoth Limited, a 1996 set for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game, identified the model as the WED-1016 'Techie' Droid.^[8] The 2021 activity book Star Wars: These Are the Droids You're Looking For, although part of the new Star Wars canon, labels the droid "WED-1016".^[9]
