Vor Deo was an Outer Rim Territories trade world situated in the Arkanis sector. Located on the Old Corellian Run hyperlane and at the endpoint of the Cranan-Excarga Route, during the reign of the Galactic Empire, an increasing number of illegal cargoes smuggled to Vor Deo led the Imperial authorities to concentrate law enforcement efforts there.

Description

Vor Deo was a small yet busy trade world located in the Vor Deo system, a part of the Arkanis sector in the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories. It was situated on the hyperlane known as the Old Corellian Run, which linked it to the Khubeaie and Obana systems, and it also lay at the endpoint of the Cranan-Excarga Route that connected it to the Gedi system.[1]

Vor Deo was originally located on the super-hyperroute known as the Corellian Run. When that hyperspace route changed its course[1] at some point between 11,000 BBY and 4000 BBY[2] and as a result no longer ran through Vor Deo, the world remained on the Old Corellian Run.[1]

History

By the time of the reign of the Galactic Empire,[1] which was established in 19 BBY,[3] Vor Deo experienced significant smuggling traffic originating from the worlds located beyond the Cirus and Melnea's World systems, which lay near the Arkanis sector's border with[1] the Hunnoverrs sector.[4] The increasing number of illegal cargoes reaching Vor Deo through the Cranan-Excarga Route concerned Imperial authorities, which as a result concentrated law enforcement efforts on Vor Deo.[1]

Behind the scenes

Vor Deo was mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square R-17.[1]
