Volpau's amulet was an extremely valuable amulet which was engraved with details of the ancestry of Volpau, a third cousin of Emperor Palpatine. The amulet was placed in a casket alongside Volpau's body after his death, which was then placed onboard the ZZ-class freighter Mingula. The vessel was bound for Coruscant so that Volpau's body could receive a ritual cremation. However, the ship then became lost, and drifted in space for a long period instead of arriving at its destination. The bounty hunter Boba Fett then discovered the Mingula drifting in space while he was transporting a captive prisoner called Tsumo, and the bounty hunter then boarded the vessel with his prisoner. They soon discovered the amulet within the casket. However, the Ubuugan fleshborers, who had killed Volpau by burrowing inside his body and using him as a host, then burst out of the corpse and attacked Fett, who killed them with his flamethrower. The flames then burned the Mingula's power cells, which set off a chain reaction, but Fett then escaped the vessel in a garbage container with the amulet before the vessel exploded, and he planned to break up the amulet and sell the pieces to interested buyers.[1]
