The subject of this article appeared only in a Star Wars Tales 120 story that was referenced in no other Star Wars Legends source.

Lucasfilm considered all Tales 1–20 content that was not "completely outrageous or intentionally comic" to have some level of canonicity within the Star Wars Legends continuity. Editor discretion is advised.

The Vindar were a species of white insectoids with four arms and a tough carapace. They possessed large black beady eyes, and they were able to fire powerful purple energy blasts from their hand. Long after the death of Luke Skywalker, they oppressed a species they referred to derogatorily as the Squidge. The Vindar considered all things not of themselves to be inconsequential, and worked to destroy the culture and heritage of those they oppressed.

They were also responsible for the "death" of C-3PO after they blasted his remaining parts to oblivion.

Biology and appearance

The Vindar were an insectoid species with a white exoskeleton and large, black beady eyes. They had six limbs, four arms and two legs. Their limbs were quite thin. The Vindar possessed substantial strength, being able to throw a full grown humanoid with relative ease. Individuals usually had 3 fingers, and were capable of firing powerful blasts of purple energy from their hands, said blasts being able to blacken and kill a humanoid with one blast. Their mouths were covered by a single pair of mandibles.

Society and culture

"Vile Squidge!"
―A Vindar while beating a Squidge with a club[1]

The Vindar were a primitive and violent species, considering all things not of themselves to be inconsequential. A notable species that they targeted was a species that they referred to as the Squidge, who were kept in areas with fences constructed from bones. They usually used basic weapons such as spiked clubs. Sometimes, they threw many Squidge into a large fiery pit.
