- "We wanted to give you an Alliance banner as a reward for your work. However, since you managed to convince Tellulon's friend to join the Rebellion, I thought I'd give you two banners. May the Force be with you."
- ―Verks
Verks was a male officer within the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.
Biography
After the Battle of Yavin, Colonel Verks was based on Yavin 4. During that time, Tellulon, a Rebel spy infiltrated in the Yavin Imperial Fortress, served under his orders.[1]
In 1 ABY,[2] during the Empire Day festivities, Colonel Verks resided in the Yavin Mining Outpost. It was there that he met a group of Rebel spacers sent to meet him by Tellulon. The spacers were coming back from the Imperial Fortress where one of them had convinced an Imperial Technician named Arlo to defect to the Alliance. Verks, impressed at how the Rebel persuaded Arlo to join the Rebellion, commended him.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "I need to visit Colonel Verks and update him on the progress of Tellulon's mission."
- ―Quest journal text identifying Colonel Verks as a male
Possible depictions of Colonel Verks.
Verks appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] Verks was added to the game upon the release of the "Publish 19," on June 29, 2005.[4] During the 2005 Empire Day live event from June 29 to July 11, 2005,[5] he could be found in the Yavin IV Mining Outpost and was part of a quest titled "Empire Day Revealed," which would send players on an important mission throughout the galaxy.[1] After the live event ended, Verks never reappeared in the game since the Empire Day event was discontinued until its complete overhaul in 2008.[6]
Since Verks spawned under the generic "rebel_colonel" template utilizing six different Interchange File Formats, his appearance was randomized under one of six possible depictions and would fluctuate after each server reset. Nevertheless, the quest journal identified Verks as a male.[1]

Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees — Rebel Quest: "Empire Day Revealed" on Tatooine
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
