The Veiled Sorority was a matriarchal pirate fleet active in the Republic Era. Led by an allegedly immortal pirate queen, the sorority was located in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories, where it exclusively attacked criminal transports. During the Clone Wars, fought between the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance[1] from 22 BBY to 19 BBY,[2] the pirates were traditionally ignored by both factions, but were problematic for several criminal organizations, such as the Hutt Clan, Black Sun, and Pyke Syndicate.[1]

Years later, during the First Order and Resistance war, the royal-born Kessurian Wilsa Teshlo had fled her life as a thilas and eventually joined the pirate gang[3] as a privateer,[4] targeting corporate haulers working for the First Order.[3] At one point, she flew a BTA-NR2 Y-wing starfighter for the sorority.[4] In 35 ABY,[2] Teshlo was one of many to come to the Resistance's aid, fighting the Sith Eternal fleet of the resurgent Galactic Emperor Darth Sidious at the Battle of Exegol.[5]

Behind the scenes

The Veiled Sorority was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in Collapse of the Republic, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] Originally introduced in Star Wars Legends, the Veiled Sorority made its appearance in Mask of the Pirate Queen, a 2015 adventure supplement authored by Tim Huckelberry for the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying game also published by Fantasy Flight Games.[6]
