Veedaaz Awmetth was a humanoid politician who served as a senator of the Galactic Senate during the Republic Era. They were an ally to Senator Padmé Amidala, and were one of the many thousands of mourners to attend her funeral on Naboo[1] in 19 BBY.[2]

Behind the scenes

Veedaaz Awmetth was a character portrayed by Nicholas Ferguson for Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith,[3] however they never made it into the final release of the film.

Their first official canon appearance was in the The Topps Company, Inc. Star Wars: Card Trader app,[4] before making another appearance in Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia.[1]

Dave Elsey, the creature shop creative supervisor for Episode III, based Awmetth's appearance on an initial design of Darth Sidious.[3]

In the 2015 non-canon video game Disney Infinity 3.0, Veedaaz Awmetth was identifed as a Sarrish diplomat.[5] Despite the game being non-canon, story group member Pablo Hidalgo confirmed on Twitter that the names provided by the game for previously unidentified characters were considered canon.[6] However, it is unknown if the designation referred to Awmetth's species.
