- "This is the Valsedian asteroid belt. It is a rich trove of ore that can be turned into fuel, armor and weaponry for the war."
- ―Supreme Chancellor Palpatine
The Valsedian asteroid belt was an ore-rich asteroid belt located deep within Hutt Space.
Description
- "Sensor scans show stable pressure outside, and trace atmosphere… it's cold, but survivable."
"Breath masks it is, then." - ―Tyzen Xebec and Keelyvine Reus
Ugnaught miners working in space suits inside the largest asteroid of the belt
During the Clone Wars, the Valsedian asteroid belt contained a hidden base owned by the Hutt Cartel. The base served as a mining facility where Ugnaught workers processed ore extracted from the asteroids in the belt. The base was guarded by a group of individuals hired by Count Dooku, who had access to everything the facility had to offer, including a wine cellar that contained Ugnaught wine.[2]
History
Clone Wars
- "I humbly bring bad news, Master. Valsedian is not in our control."
"I am doubtful it ever was. It appears that mighty Jabba has outmaneuvered us. Such scheming, worthy of a Sith." - ―Asajj Ventress and Count Dooku
During the Clone Wars, the Valsedian asteroid belt was suspected to have been sold to the Confederacy of Independent Systems by Torpo the Hutt, in breach of the terms of a treaty between the Hutts and the Galactic Republic. In response, the Jedi Order set up a mission to investigate this matter.[2]
Galactic Civil War
During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance established a base in the Valsedian asteroid belt. The base was later decimated by the Galactic Empire. As a reward for this success, Admiral Gaen Drommel would eventually be given command of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Guardian.[3]
